Juanfran believes Atletico Madrid are close to being a team that can win the Champions League and that Diego Simeone is the best Coach in the world.
The right-back, speaking the day after Los Colchoneros recorded a 4-0 win in the competition over Astana, believes the team’s experience gives them an edge.
“The last two seasons we’ve been very close to the trophy but it won’t be easy to repeat that,” Juanfran said, AS reports.
“Whoever we play, this team is ready to give a lot of joy. Atletico can win the Champions League soon.
“I play to win everything, so I always see Atletico as a winning team. We’re among the best in Europe and we want more trophies. I’m convinced this season will be even better than the last.
“We’re strong, hard-working, ambitious, committed, and able to overcome our own limitations.
“[Simeone is] the best Coach in the world, a perfect guide and a great motivator. He’s like my second father. I’m eternally grateful to him.
“He gave my career another dimension and always supported me in the bad times. I value his advice. One day he told me to put my heart into everything in life.”
