Neymar: I want to stay at Barca

Neymar insists he wants to stay at Barcelona but with three years on his current contract, sees no need to hurry into a renewal.

Barca have made noises about extending the Brazil captain’s deal at Camp Nou but Neymar has spoken to Mundo Deportivo about the issue.

“I’m very happy at Barca and in the city, where I have adapted very well,” he began.

“I have three more years of my contract and I leave these issues with my father. My only concern now is on helping the team and winning trophies.

“It’s clear [I want to renew] but we will speak about it later.”

Neymar recently reached the 100-game mark for La Blaugrana and spoke of what it means to hit such a landmark, picking out two of his most memorable matches.

“It means a lot because it was always a dream to play at Barca. I wanted to play here since childhood and to play 100 games is a great honour,” he acknowledged.

“All the games have been important but I’ll take the first [the Supercopa de Espana against Atletico Madrid] and the Champions League final in Berlin. There are a lot of games but most of all I’ll take that final.

“I’ll take the first goal I scored against Real Madrid in the first season. It was my first clasico and I scored. That goal will always be in my memory.”
