Del Bosque coy on Spain injuries

Vicente del Bosque concedes he knows “nothing” about the extent of David Silva and Alvaro Morata’s injuries in the wake of Spain’s qualification for Euro 2016.

Manchester City star Silva hobbled off after just 10 minutes of La Roja's 4-0 victory over Luxembourg on Friday with a suspected ankle problem, while Morata was stretchered off not long later, the Juventus striker reportedly bruising his fibula.

“I don’t know the extent of the injuries,” the Coach said after the game.

“Our doctors will inform us once they know something. We know nothing at the moment.

“We had a good game, but [Luxembourg] demanded a lot of us. Still, we must celebrate our qualification. We have a good team.

“The injuries affected us, but we finally settled the encounter in the last few minutes.

“I want to thank the fans who supported us and were on our side in Logrono.

“Our philosophy is to attack, either down the wings or through the middle. The players were generous with their efforts.”
