Neymar says he will dedicate his 100th Barcelona appearance on Saturday against Sevilla to injured strike partner Lionel Messi.
The Brazilian has taken little over two years to become a Blaugrana centurion, but he has made it clear that his feat pales in comparison to his crestfallen teammate, who continues to recover from a knee injury.
“Leo's the best and I want to win for him [on Saturday],” he told Mundo Deportivo, while wearing a 'Get Well Soon, Leo' T-shirt.
“It means a lot for me to reach 100 games because it was always my dream to play for Barca.
“I've harboured an interest to play here since I was a child, so to make 100 appearances for this club is a great honour.
“Every match I've played in has been very important, but I'll never forget my debut and the Champions League final in Berlin.
“[My favourite goal] was the first one I scored against Real Madrid in my first season. It was my first derby and I scored, so I'll always remember it.
“[On his best performance], the hat-trick I scored against Celtic in the Champions League was very important, as was the Copa del Rey final win at Camp Nou.”
