Valencia captain Dani Parejo had no doubt his side were well worth their Champions League victory at Lyon.
Sofiane Feghouli scored the game’s only goal as Los Che got back on track following their first group round defeat at home to Zenit St Petersburg.
“We’re happy because the team deserved this victory,” the skipper said, according to Super Deporte.
“The three points are important for us, for the group table and our confidence. The team is showing signs of togetherness, that it’s united and that we know what we want.
“The start wasn’t the best, not what was expected by us or by the fans but we are already focused on Sunday because it’s another war.”
