Paco Jemez rated Rayo Vallecano’s performance in beating Sporting Gijon as ‘spectacular’ and an improvement on recent displays.
Rayo won 2-1 to make it two wins in a row after beginning the season by going three games without success.
“We played a spectacular match. I’ve seen an improvement from the team and the points are a consequence of what’s being done on the pitch,” the Coach said, Marca reports.
“We did what we had to do, which is create five clear chances. Sporting are a very hard team to face. They know what they want and don’t give anything away. Even when it was 2-1 they kept attacking.
“The pace of our game still needs to improve, because we have to take advantage when we have a team on the ropes.”
