Navas closing in on Casillas record

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas could match Iker Casillas’ clean-sheet record with another shut-out against Granada on Saturday.

The Costa Rican has yet to concede a goal in four matches this season and will equal the former No 1’s benchmark of 450 minutes without conceding if he completes this weekend’s encounter with the Andalucians in La Liga.

“I think it’s sensational [that Navas is closing in on the record],” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“Although credit must go to all the players, because they’ve lent their hand, it’s true that he’s made two or three vital saves.

"I'm happy for him and the team. We’ve spoken about many things, but this one is particularly important to me.

“Setting a record at Real Madrid is very difficult, almost impossible, given the number of records which have been set.

“Doing so means the team are doing well and that Keylor is too, of course.”
