Confirmed: Rafinha suffers ACL injury

Barcelona have confirmed Rafinha tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the Champions League draw with Roma.

It was on Thursday morning reported that the midfielder was facing a full season on the sidelines as he would need surgery to repair the damage.

Marca also suggested the Brazil international had injured his posterior cruciate ligament and, with recovery time also considered, would only play again this season at the very end of the campaign.

Barca have now confirmed via their official Twitter account that Rafinha suffered the ACL injury, having undergone tests to determine the extent of the problem.
