Atletico Madrid will be without Filipe Luis for the Champions League game against Galatasaray, the left-back not even travelling to Turkey.
Marca reports 21 of Diego Simeone’s squad made the journey for the opening round of Champions League group games.
Filipe was injured in the 2-1 defeat to Barcelona on Saturday and though he was able to see out the 90 minutes, won’t be involved on Tuesday.
Jesus Gamez, who deputised for the former Chelsea defender earlier in the season at Sevilla, and Guilherme Siqueira, the other natural left-back available to the Coach, have travelled.
Filipe is the only first team player not to make the trip to Istanbul.
A further report from Marca adds, however, that Filipe’s injury against Barca was little more than cramp and he was able to run and work a little on an exercise bike in a Sunday session.
The report suggests there’s little reason the Brazilian should be left out of the squad for the Gala fixture, but he has stayed in Spain.
