Marcelino wary of Granada threat

Marcelino has urged Villarreal to be wary of Granada’s counterattacking threat ahead of Sunday’s early kick-off at Los Carmenes.

The Yellow Submarine remain unbeaten in La Liga after two matches but face a gruelling schedule over the next 13 days as their weekend commitments have been sandwiched by Rapid Vienna in the Europa League next Thursday and Malaga the following Wednesday.

“It’ll be a difficult game because Granada have put together a good team and are very effective on the break, which is very dangerous for us. Furthermore, the calendar doesn’t help us,” he said at a Press conference.

“We must take the calendar for what it is, but we have matches in Europe coming up and we’re happy. We’d be annoyed if we didn’t.

“In football, there’s the luck factor and injuries have played a big part [in our fortunes]. Our objective is to improve on last season.”
