Iborra: Sevilla will bounce back

Vicente Iborra has backed Sevilla to ride their recent storm when they travel to his former club Levante in La Liga on Friday.

The Andalucians conceded six against Barcelona in the UEFA Super Cup and failed to win either of their opening two League games of the season, one of which was their 3-0 home defeat to Atletico Madrid last week.

Sevilla have also lost centre-backs Daniel Carrico and Adil Rami to long-term injuries in that time, but the midfielder is confident that his side have what it takes to bounce back with a win at Ciutat de Valencia.

“Winning at Ciutat de Valencia is very difficult, so we must do lots of things well and play with equal intensity,” he told SFC Radio.

“Football has all of that [regarding Adil Rami's injury and recent poor results]. We have to get over it, pull together and move on from these setbacks.

“I think we have enough players [to cover at centre-back]. All the players and coaching staff have confidence in [Timothee Kolodziejczak, Luismi and Marco Andreolli]. I'm sure that whoever plays will do well.

“[Levante] have strengthened well with some experienced players, who know the League.

“I have teammates who won't be back until the day before the match and will have to play after a long journey. We have to overcome this too.

“The Coach knows I'm willing to play anywhere. I want play and work hard every day.

“Because of that, I also feel comfortable in the hole, but ultimately I just want to play.”
