Real Madrid have confirmed on their official website that Danilo has suffered a foot injury, which could keep him sidelined for up to a month.
The right-back contracted the knock during Brazil's 4-1 friendly victory over the United States on Wednesday, and his club have now revealed a tear to the plantar fascia in his right heel.
Although Madrid did not mention a recovery time, such injuries normally require 3-4 weeks to fully heal.
Consequently, Danilo could miss his side's next seven matches, including the capital derby against Atletico Madrid on October 4.
