Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has made it clear that the only way Paris Saint-Germain can sign Cristiano Ronaldo is if they meet his €1bn release clause.
The No 7 has reportedly been the subject of two mammoth bids from the French giants this summer, but the patron insists he wants the world's “best and most symbolic” player to stay with Los Blancos for the foreseeable future.
“[Ronaldo] has a contract here and we want him to stay with us in the future, but nothing is certain in life,” he told Cadena COPE.
“Today, it's impossible for Real Madrid to be without Cristiano Ronaldo. He's the best and most symbolic player in the world.
“If [PSG] want him, it's very easy for them to pay his €1bn release clause and take him.
“I can see [Ronaldo] returning to fight for [the 2015 Ballon d'Or], with [Gareth] Bale, [Karim] Benzema and James [Rodriguez] to follow. We love them all.”
