‘The Press want a Spanish Madrid GK’

Keylor Navas’ father believes there is a campaign against the Costa Rica international being first choice for Real Madrid.

Navas was to go to Manchester United in the operation to bring David De Gea the other way and AS reports Freddy Navas has complained on Costa Rican radio that his son hasn’t been accepted by the media.

“The Press want a Spaniard in goal at Madrid. They don’t accept a Central American. They know he’s the best but their pride won’t let them accept it,” he is quoted as saying.

“I felt chills and I cried to hear people singing my son’s name in one of the most difficult crowds and one of the best teams. Costa Rica is proud of him.

“Keylor has told me that he has the support of all his teammates. Marcelo, Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez, all the players love him because he’s humble and quiet.”
