Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo told Raul Garcia he always has a home at Vicente Calderon as the midfielder joins Athletic Bilbao.
Garcia’s move to San Mames was confirmed on Monday and the midfielder was afforded a farewell ceremony at Vicente Calderon in which President Enrique Cerezo presented him with a No 8 shirt reading ‘Thank you Raul.’
“It’s a day to be happy because you’re going to a great team,” Cerezo began, AS reports, with a number of the Atleti squad present and every trophy Garcia won with the club laid out.
“It’s been an honour to have you here so long. Not only have you shown your quality as a player but as a person.
“Wherever you go we feel confident this shirt is yours. This will always be your home.”
