Barca want midfielder, forward in January

Barcelona are plotting their winter signings and have identified a midfielder and a forward for then the transfer market re-opens and their embargo is lifted.

The Catalans signed Aleix Vidal from Sevilla and Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid over the summer but neither player can be registered until the next transfer window under the terms of their FIFA transfer ban.

Pedro Rodriguez was among the players to leave Camp Nou and Nolito was touted as a replacement until his new Celta Vigo contract raised his release clause from €18m to €30m.

Xavi Hernandez also moved on and finding alternatives for the pair is the task for sporting director Robert Fernandez, AS reports.
