Betis sign Joaquin, Norwich star to follow?

Real Betis have signed Joaquin from Fiorentina, subject to a medical, and could be about to swoop for Norwich City striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Los Verdiblancos will reportedly pay €1m plus variable for the winger, who returns nine years after leaving for Valencia.

He has also agreed a three-year contract with Los Verdiblancos and will undergo a medical on Tuesday.

“I'm very happy about going home, the team have given me everything,” he was quoted as saying by AS.

“It's been two very difficult weeks, but everything has been sorted in the best way possible for me and Fiorentina.

“I want to thank the supporters for my two fantastic years [at Fiorentina]. This is my second home and many memories will stay with me.”

Diario de Sevilla, meanwhile, claims Betis are closing in on the capture of Van Wolfswinkel.

The 26-year-old remains Norwich's record signing but has struggled to live up to expectations at Carrow Road, spending last season at French side Saint-Etienne.

However, it is not yet known whether the Dutchman would join Betis on loan or a permanent deal.
