Depor suspend Salomao medical

Deportivo La Coruna have suspended Diogo Salomao's medical as the winger continues to encounter difficulties in negotiating his release from Sporting CP.

The 26-year-old has spent a total of three seasons on loan with the Galicians, notably scoring the goal which kept the side in La Liga on the final day of last season against Barcelona.

Depor had hoped to sign the Portuguese for nothing [pictured, right], while entitling Sporting to a sell-on percentage, but the deal is now hanging in the balance.

“Diogo Salomao did not undergo medical tests with [the club] on Monday as a result of problems in negotiations between the footballer and his parent club Sporting Clube de Portugal,” read a statement on Depor's official website.

However, the club added they were sure “the problem can be solved in the coming hours”.

Salomao has also been linked with English Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday, who are managed by countryman Carlos Carvalhal.
