Malaga close in on Mastour?

Malaga are reportedly on the verge of signing Milan wonderkid and former Real Madrid target Hachim Mastour.

According to AS, the 17-year-old will join the Andalucians on a season-long loan with the view to a permanent deal next summer for a fee of €4-5m.

The surprise element of the move, however, is due to the Moroccan being a personal request of Malaga President Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Thani, who is believed to bypassed sporting director Mario Husillos in engineering the player's arrival.

The swoop bears similiarities to that of Isco in 2011, when the then-Valencia youngster's €7m release clause was activated by Malaga, despite barely featuring for Los Che.

Mastour, who can play anywhere in attack, could be set to follow in the footsteps of Roque Santa Cruz, who recently completed his return to La Rosaleda, although Coach Javi Gracia is believed to have asked for a right winger instead.
