Cedric Bakambu has spoken of his delight at claiming a brace on his home debut for Villarreal.
Bakambu netted twice in a 3-1 win over Espanyol on Friday night, Roberto Soldado scoring the other goal for the Yellow Submarine.
“I didn’t expect such a good debut at El Madrigal,” the summer signing from Bursaspor said, El Peridocio Mediterraneo reported.
“I’m adapting to the team very quickly and the two goals are a bonus. Soldado is a great player. I’m learning a lot playing next to him and I hope to continue growing by his side.
“The game in Spain is faster and more football is played, with players of the highest level. I hope to adapt as soon as possible.”
