‘Sevilla confident from Super Cup’

Michael Krohn-Dehli reveals Sevilla feel more confident for the start of La Liga from their epic encounter with Barcelona in the UEFA Super Cup.

Sevilla pushed Barca all the way in the showpiece between the Champions League winners and the Europa League winners, eventually going down 5-4 to a Pedro Rodriguez goal in extra time.

“We’re looking forward to the start of La Liga. It’s a difficult away game [at Malaga] but the team is good,” Krohn-Dehli said, Marca reports.

“We’ve worked very hard this pre-season and after the game against Barca I think there is more confidence.

“All the teams are eager to play. There are points at stake now and there is more pressure, but we are footballers.

“[Sevilla] have a lot of good players but a lot of new signings and we have to grow as a team. We haven’t had a lot of time, but I think we’re ready to start the League.

“There is a lot of competition but that’s good in training and the level is better for players when there’s that competition.

“We can’t just say we’re a good team, we have to prove it.”
