Official: Perez returns to Depor

Deportivo La Coruna have announced the return of winger Lucas Perez from PAOK on a four-year contract.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Riazor last season, scoring six goals in 21 appearances, and was presented by the Galicians on Thursday.

“[I must thank PAOK] for helping me to leave Ukraine. I wouldn’t fight or make unfair demands with a club who have given me a lot.

“I feel that I’m progressing in my career by coming back home. [As a footballer], you have to play and be happy with your life because if you are happy and play where you want, everything becomes easier.

“I have the same enthusiasm as I did on my first day here. I haven’t returned with the promise of scoring goals or anything, but rather I’ve returned with the promise of working hard for this team.

“It’s an honour to return to a team with Manuel Pablo, [Alberto] Lopo, Fabricio. I hope they renew [their contracts].

“For me, it’s a joy as they’re great bunch of lads. It’s a pleasure to come home.

“We’ve signed well in this transfer window. We’re a good team and we’ll compare [favourably] with last year.

“[2014-15 and 2015-16] are different seasons with different situations. An exciting season awaits and I hope we can achieve salvation quickly.”
