Espanyol have completed the signing of forward Gerard Moreno from Villarreal in a co-ownership deal for a reported €1.5m.
Los Periquitos had been pursuing the Yellow Submarine starlet following the departures of Sergio Garcia and Christian Stuani, and a deal has now been confirmed by both clubs.
Gerard has signed a five-year contract with Espanyol, while it is believed that the co-ownership only entitles Villarreal to 50 percent of a future sale.
“The club would like to thank [Gerard] for his professionalism, effort and involvement, and we wish him the best of luck in this new stage of his career,” a statement on Villarreal’s official website read.
The 23-year-old, who scored 16 goals last season, will be presented by Espanyol at 13:00 CET on Friday.
