Reported Manchester City target Diego Godin has reportedly agreed an improved contract with Atletico Madrid until 2019.
The English giants were believed to have proposed the defender lucrative terms after they expressed a willingness to meet his €40m release clause, but AS claims the 29-year-old has instead opted to stay loyal to Los Colchoneros.
The new deal will see Godin contracted to Atleti for a further year, although he is expected to earn considerably less than the €6m salary offered to him by City.
