Nolito ‘could only quit Celta for Barca’

Nolito has admitted the only club which could pull him away from Celta Vigo is Barcelona as he is mooted as a replacement for Pedro Rodriguez.

The forward is said to have a fan in Luis Enrique, who worked with the player during his year in charge at Balaidos, immediately before he took over the bench at Camp Nou.

“Either I go there or I stay at Celta. It doesn’t matter what other teams there are,” Nolito is quoted as saying regarding Barca, AS reports.

“I’ve had many offers, good ones financially, but I’m happy here. I feel like a footballer and I feel the support of the people. I repeat, I either go to Barcelona or I stay at Celta.

“It’s a lie that I’ve received an offer from Barca. I don’t think the club has either. As I’ve said, Celta is in charge because I have a transfer clause of €18m.

“It’s true that I have had offers from other teams but I decided to stay here.

“I can’t say no to Barcelona, and not when they pay the €18m. Barcelona is one of the best teams in the world. I’m not a fool.

“I’m a bit overwhelmed by the situation because if it was up to the Press I’d be playing at Porto, Napoli, Valencia, Atletico Madrid and who knows where else. It’d have to be another Nolito, my twin brother. It’s a long time since I read the newspapers.

“I’m happy here, I have four years on my contract but you never know what might happen.”
