Aduriz wants ‘Supercopa every year’

Aritz Aduriz is excited by the prospect of the Supercopa de Espana between Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona. “I hope we play it every year.”

Athletic and Barcelona meet in a double-header starting on Friday in a rematch from the Copa Del Rey final, won by the Catalans on their way to the treble.

“The start of the season is very beautiful. I hope we play the Supercopa every year. It’s not every day you compete for a trophy,” Aduriz said, AS reports.

“We have to play with our weapons. [Barca being without] Jordi Alba and Neymar is important, but we also have important absences. It hurts not having the entire team available.

“I’m a little concerned by our lack of goals. When the team has trouble scoring there is a lot of talk. But we must be relative. We’re at the beginning of the season. Hopefully we can fix that in the next few matches, then talk about other things.

“I feel great. Physically I’m fine. It’s true I’ve had no luck in front of goal but I don’t feel too bad.

“We’ve got two finals to come. We know what we have to do and we’re psyched for the Supercopa.”

It has also been reported by AS that Inaki Williams is close to returning to full fitness and could even get minutes against Barca, although that remains unlikely as Athletic don’t want to take any risks.
