Official: Vila leaves for Greece

AEK Athens have completed the signing of former Eibar left-back Didac Vila from Milan on a three-year contract.

The 26-year-old played 15 times for the Basques, who ultimately stayed in La Liga thanks to Elche’s non-footballing demotion, last season but has decided to continue his career in Greece.

“I think [AEK] are a big step in my career,” he told the country’s Press.

“I now belong to a team who want to win every game. I’m ready to help the club immediately.

Vila began his career at Espanyol, before joining Milan for an ill-fated spell in 2011.

Appearing just once for the Rossoneri, the former Spain Under-21 international returned to Espanyol on loan in 2012-13 and represented Real Betis the following campaign.
