Luis Enrique has admitted that Barcelona “must improve” defensively following Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina.
Federico Bernardeschi’s double inside the opening 12 minutes condemned the Catalans to yet another pre-season defeat, and the Coach did not mince his words when quizzed on his side’s continued inability to show resolve.
“I can’t be satisfied with the match. There are defensive aspects that we must improve on,” he said after the game.
“These are aspects that we’ve already worked on, but apparently [our solutions] haven’t worked. We must insist [on improving them].
“We played against strong opponents, but it can’t be that, in the first 10 minutes, we conceded two goals in our box.
“There are things that can and must be corrected. We’re very good when we’re at 100 percent but not so much when we’re not.
“I don’t mind the result, but we must also be more clinical [in front of goal]. If we’re clinical, we can see off matches with the chances we create.”
