Granada sporting director Juan Carlos Cordero has confirmed his club’s interest in Swansea City striker Michu.
Michu rose to prominence under Granada boss Jose Ramon Sandoval during the 2011-12 campaign, when he scored 15 goals in 37 La Liga appearances for Rayo Vallecano, before joining Swansea the following summer.
“[Michu] is close to [Coach Jose Ramon] Sandoval because [Sandoval] was the one who gave him his opportunity in La Liga,” Cordero told EFE.
“He’d be a very important player for Granada, but he has a contract with his club, we already have players in his position and there’s a financial situation to comply with.
“We like Michu and have spoken with him and his agent but not about a deal, negotiations or anything like that.”
