Demoted Elche will begin their quest to bounce back to the Primera Liga at the first attempt with a visit to Ponferradina.
The Valencian club yesterday lost their appeal to be reinstated to Spain’s top flight after they were removed for financial mismanagement. Instead, they will take their place in the Segunda, whose fixture calendar was released this afternoon.
Elsewhere, fellow relegated teams Almeria and Cordoba start with home ties against Leganes and Valladolid respectively.
The opening round of Segunda fixtures will, like the Primera, take place on the weekend of 22 and 23 August.
