‘Valencia on right path’

Valencia’s Javi Fuego is convinced that the club are back on the right path following their fourth place La Liga finish last season.

Los Che will return to the Champions League this campaign, with the 31-year-old stressing the need for his side to continue doing the things they were doing last term.

“We will continue with the journey we started last year, which for me is the right journey,” midfielder Fuego told reporters. “We need to train to the maximum day after day.

“Last year we used various systems and this year we are starting with three central defenders. We have alternatives and some players still need to adapt.”

Fuego also praised Valencia’s team spirit.

“It is a squad rich in options. We are lucky to be in a very good dressing room and the people coming in are fitting in quickly because nobody thinks they are better than anyone else.”
