Collet dismisses Madrid Casilla offer

Espanyol President Joan Collet has dismissed Real Madrid’s offer of €4m for goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

Los Blancos are in the market for a new shot-stopper following the departure of club legend Iker Casillas to Porto.

Casilla, along with Manchester United’s David De Gea, has been the subject of a formal bid from Madrid in recent times. However, Collet says the amount offered falls way below his club’s valuation.

“We are at €4 million,” the Blanquiazules chief told reporters today. “For what he represents and for what the value of the player is we have not asked for anything because we do not have to sell.

“The communication we sent to Real Madrid was that Kiko is valued at more than €4 million. I don’t know if they have other proposals, but we have not talked for a few days. We are currently at €4 million and we cannot accept that.”
