Sirigu wanted by Valencia?

Valencia are reportedly considering under-fire Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu as a solution to their shot-stopping woes.

L’Equipe reports Kevin Trapp’s recent transfer to PSG has left the Italy No 2 in the shade as the new boy is expected to become the club’s first-choice custodian.

Los Che have goalkeeping struggles of their own following Diego Alves’ season-ending injury and Geronimo Rulli’s switch to Real Sociedad, but they are believed to rate Sirigu highly.

The 28-year-old joined PSG from Palermo in 2011 and had been their undisputed glovesman for the subsequent four seasons, although he came under scrutiny for a series of poor performances in the Champions League last term.

However, Valencia would be posed with a problem once Alves returns from injury next year as one of the two would face the unattractive prospect of being either’s deputy.
