N’Zonzi: Sevilla perfect for me

Steven N’Zonzi believes Sevilla are the “perfect” club for him to progress as a player after consulting ex-Stoke City teammates Bojan Krkic and Marc Muniesa.

The French midfielder, 26, was presented as the Europa League winners’ sixth signing of the close season on Thursday for a reported €7m, and he could not hide his delight at having secured a transfer to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

“I’m very happy to be at Sevilla,” he told the club’s official website.

“They’re a very good team, and so are Stoke, but Sevilla suit my characteristics very well. I’ve come to grow and Sevilla are the perfect club for me.

“I play in the same position as [former defensive midfielder Stephane] Mbia, but we are different players.

“I hope to win something with this shirt. I spoke to my Spanish teammates at Stoke [Bojan Krkic and Marc Muniesa] when I heard about this opportunity, and they only said good things about it.

“What I like about coming here is that [La Liga] is a different competition, but one that I think is best suited to me. I hope to grow and achieve important goals [at Sevilla].”
