The agent of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has confirmed that he has held talks with Barcelona presidential candidate Toni Freixa.
Sport reported on Monday that the pair met to discuss a possible transfer for the Italy international, providing the 46-year-old was elected President on July 18, but Donato Di Campli has made it clear that they have only spoken via telephone.
“I’ve never met [Toni] Freixa, but we’ve spoken by phone,” he told Calciomercato.
“I’m in contact with many people. I talk to many people, but it means absolutely nothing.
“Marco’s extremely quiet because he’s happy in Paris. He has a long contract [which expires in 2019].
“Anyone interested [in Verratti] must contact Paris Saint-Germain, not me. I have nothing more to add.”
