Celta gain full ownership of Nolito

Celta Vigo have gained full ownership of Nolito after purchasing the remaining 35 percent of his economic rights from an investment fund.

The Galicians signed the forward from Benfica on a permanent basis in 2013 but only took 65 percent of his ownership.

However, Celta have now announced on their official website that they own the 28-year-old outright.

The club also maintained “we are working hard to maintain the strength of the team in order for the growth and maturity of our sports project to continue”.

It is understood that a deal was struck between Celta and the Benfica Stars Fund, although the fee has not been disclosed.

The Barcelona youth product enjoyed a fine 2014-15 campaign, scoring 14 goals, laying off 12 assists and earning two Spain caps.

The news comes in quick succession of Santi Mina’s transfer to Valencia.
