Bravo named Copa’s best goalkeeper

Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has been named the best goalkeeper of Copa America 2015 after leading Chile to their first major trophy.

The former Real Sociedad man emerged as his country’s hero as he saved Ever Banega’s penultimate penalty to gift Alexis Sanchez the opportunity of firing La Roja to South American glory with the final spot-kick.

“We’re not used to winning, but today we had to win,” he said after the game.

“We leave the negative story [of our past] behind. This generation are privileged.”
