Hernandez out of Gold Cup

Javier Hernandez will miss Mexico’s upcoming Gold Cup campaign after fracturing his collar bone.

The forward, who spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, was playing in his country’s warm-up match against Honduras when the incident happened.

As such, he has been ruled out of action for the next three to four weeks, meaning he will miss out on the entirety of the tournament in the United States and Canada.

“We have to look ahead,” Mexico Coach Miguel Herrera commented. “Unfortunately, the situation cannot recover.”
