Porto have officially confirmed that forward Jackson Martinez will join Atletico Madrid for a fee of €35m.
The Colombian has been linked with several European clubs over the course of the close-season but in a statement on their official website, the Portuguese club confirmed the player will head to Vicente Calderon.
“Atletico Madrid informed Porto on Tuesday that they will activate the release clause of the player Jackson Martinez, for the value of €35m,” the statement reads.
The signing will come as a welcome boost to Diego Simeone’s side, who are looking to replace the recently departed Mario Mandzukic.
