No Madrid bid for Biglia, but…

Real Madrid are understood to be interested in Lucas Biglia but have not made Lazio an offer for the midfielder.

According to Marca, claims made by FIFA agent Alessio Scalera via Radiosei that the Biancocelesti had received a €22m bid from Los Blancos for the Argentine are not true.

La Gazzetta dello Sport also reported that the bid was rejected as Lazio President Claudio Lotito was holding out for nearer to €30m.

Nonetheless, new boss Rafa Benitez will mull over the performances of Casemiro, Asier Illarramendi and Lucas Silva during pre-season before making any moves for midfield reinforcements.

Regardless, the former Liverpool and Chelsea manager is believed to be an admirer of Biglia, who helped Argentina reach the 2014 World Cup final and is currently representing his country at Copa America.
