Bartomeu promises more signings

Josep Maria Bartomeu has promised more signings if he is re-elected Barcelona President next month.

Despite a FIFA-imposed transfer ban leaving any new arrivals sidelined until January, the 52-year-old assured La Blaugrana were working on improving the squad and had not been “paralysed” by the election process.

“We have a very reliable team for next season, but there will be players other than Aleix Vidal arriving,” he said at a dinner on Friday.

“The club have not been paralysed by the election process and are working on sporting plans left to us by Luis Enrique.

“The Coach knows what we need and we’re doing our homework.

“I don’t know how many signatures we have, but it’s very pleasing to see fans in the street, eager for us to continue at the club.”
