Pepe believes a “spectacular” season awaits Real Madrid, but only if everyone connected to club pulls in the same direction.
The defender endured an injury-hit 2014-15 campaign as Los Blancos failed to win any major silverware, but he is confident about his side’s chances under new Coach Rafa Benitez next term.
“If we all work to death in the same direction, showing team spirit, success will follow, of that I have no doubt,” he told Marca.
“We respect all our opponents, but we have a great squad with great quality. That’s why I insist that unity is the most important thing.
“We must be united, from all the players to the Coach, the President, the directors, and all the fans, of course.
“It’ll be a great season, for sure, but only if we paddle together in the same direction with the commitment of fighting to the death. That’s the key to us winning as much as possible.
“I’m looking forward to starting the season. I want to return, reconnect with my colleagues, meet Rafa Benitez and start working.
“I’m very motivated because I believe we’ll have a spectacular season.”
