The agent of Jackson Martinez has spoken of his disappointment with Porto’s reluctance to conclude the striker’s €35m transfer to Atletico Madrid.
Luis Henrique Pompeu confirmed on Tuesday that a deal had been agreed to take the Colombian to the Vicente Calderon, but he admits the hold-up has been on the part of Pinto da Costa, the Portuguese giants’ President.
“I faxed [Porto] a formal offer of €35m [from Atleti] to activate Jackson Martinez’s buyout clause, which has been clearly stipulated since last year,” he told A Bola.
“For me, it was a surprise that the Porto President wouldn’t meet me. I demand his respect and that he fulfils what has been set out.”
