€42m for Ramos? €50m?

Different reports in Britain claim Manchester United have failed with offers for Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, although there isn’t consensus on the price.

AS notes that the Daily Mail say United approached Madrid with a bid of €50m [£35m] for the unsettled centre-back, while the Daily Telegraph say an offer of €42m [£30m] was made.

Reports in Spain, meanwhile, say United have offered Ramos a five-year contract worth some €55m over its duration.

The Mail’s report of United’s alleged offer says the Ramos transfer is unrelated to Madrid’s pursuit of David De Gea, while the Telegraph suggest Madrid will have to talk to United about Ramos because of the negotiations for the goalkeeper.

The Telegraph also say Aymeric Laporte, Nicolas Otamendi and Laurent Koscielny are all potential Ramos replacements.
