Sevilla sporting director Monchi says Denis Suarez will stay at the club for a second season and not return to Barcelona.
It had been reported that Barca wanted to end the midfielder’s loan spell a year early but Monchi insists Sevilla want him and expect him to stay.
“Denis will stay for this year. That’s what his contract says and that’s what we want,” AS quotes him as saying.
“We want him to stay and we are happy with him.”
Monchi also denied any contact with any prospective Barcelona President after it was rumoured one of the hopefuls had a deal with Vicente Iborra.
“He certainly hasn’t signed with Barca because nobody has spoken to Sevilla,” he confirmed.
