Barca & Everton ‘agree Deulofeu deal’

It’s reported that Barcelona and Everton have come to terms on the transfer of Gerard Deulofeu and the winger now needs to complete a medical.

Deulofeu is in Liverpool, Marca reports, and will cost the Toffees €6m, with Barca holding a buy-back option for the next 12 months.

The transfer should be wrapped up shortly and announced before the end of the month, with the precise date of the deal important as it will be included on the balance sheet for 2014-15.

Barca’s revenue would surpass €600m for the year if Deulofeu’s exit is counted in the current financial year, a new record and potentially important for Josep Maria Bartomeu during the current election cycle.

The transfer isn’t dependant on the winner of the Presidential election, however, and will go through regardless of who comes out on top.

It’s Barca’s technical committee and Coach Luis Enrique who have given the greenlight to letting Deulofeu leave.

Enrique had previously asked that Deulofeu be brought back to Camp Nou from his 2013-14 loan at Everton, but then consented to letting him go to Sevilla for 2014-15.

Deulofeu struggled to get a regular place under Unai Emery and asked to be allowed to leave Barca on a permanent basis.
