Josep Maria Bartomeu has a Spanish player based in La Liga lined up should he be returned as Barcelona President.
Bartomeu, the sitting President prior to the calling of elections for July 18, has a deal in place for the unnamed Primera player and will announce their identity shortly before the election is held.
The deal would then be completed should Bartomeu be voted in for a new term as Barca President.
Sport say the player in question is a midfielder and Bartomeu has personally conducted the negotiations for the mystery man.
Bartomeu previously said he wouldn’t engage in the usual practice of promising signings but spent the weekend finalising the details of the transfer.
