Three in, one out at Villarreal

Villarreal are to complete the signings of Alphonse Areola, Samu Castillejo and Samu Garcia, but Ikechukwu Uche is heading to Mexico.

Areola will sign on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, having spent last season at Bastia, the Yellow Submarine having beaten Toulouse to his signature.

A picture appeared on social media that appeared to show Areola being presented with his Villarreal shirt by Fernando Roig, the club President, but the transfer hasn’t yet been officially announced.

Areola is set to be joined by Malaga pair Castillejo and Garcia, the wingers signing on a permanent basis for a combined €16m.

They are both known to be in Villarreal and need to pass their medicals before the move becomes official, having been officially requested for next season by Coach Marcelino.

AS note that Malaga won’t receive the full amount for the sale of two of their most important players as Castillejo’s rights in particular were sold to an investment group, Malaga retaining only 55% of his contract.

Uche, meanwhile, is in Mexico for a medical ahead of move to Tigre, who confirmed the forward’s presence.

Villarreal would receive around €4m for the Nigerian, who spent four years at El Madrigal, including a season on loan at Granada.
