Neymar lawsuit admitted to court

Legal action brought by an investment fund that owned part of Neymar’s registration before he joined Barcelona will be heard in court.

Reports from Spain on Wednesday confirm the lawsuit from DIS – against Barcelona, Neymar, his father, Josep Maria Bartomeu, Sandro Rosell and two former Santos directors – will go before the High Court, the Audiencia Nacional.

AS note DIS owned 40% of the Brazil international and allege a fraudulent transaction. It’s claimed they received €6.8m from the 2013 transfer but the group feels they should have been paid more than twice that, some €16m.

Barca revealed the workings of the deal in January 2014, confirming they paid Santos €17.1m for Neymar, and N&N, a company owned by Neymar’s parents, received €40m.

DIS argue if the €40m was part of the transfer fee paid by the Catalans, they were due a cut of the €57.1m total.
