Inter close on Miranda

Inter have reportedly moved closer to agreeing a deal with Atletico Madrid for Brazil international Miranda.

The Italian giants have been heavily linked with the 30-year-old and La Gazzetta dello Sport believes that a difference of about €4m is currently separating the two clubs.

The newspaper believes the Nerazzurri have tabled a bid of around €12m but that Atleti are demanding €16m for the defender.

The Rojiblanco had turned down offers for the Brazilian last summer but could now be willing to sell given his advancing years, a contract expiring next summer and the progress of young centre-back Jose Maria Gimenez.

Miranda is currently on international duty with Brazil at the Copa America and scored three goals in 23 league appearances for Atleti this season as they finished third in La Liga.
